    The Position:

    This person is a utility player that works closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in all areas of the company including leases, contracts, risk, compliance, and special projects. This person will be highly valued for their organizational skills as well as their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. While there will be ongoing routine and administrative tasks, this is a fast paced environment and no day is ever the same. There will be a lot of energy & research spent on special projects that touch every department in the company. The person in this position will never be bored and will be encouraged and appreciated for the knowledge and experience they bring to the company.

    About the CAO:

    The CAO is also the Chief of Staff to the CEO and oversees HR, Payroll, Member Services, Legal, Risk, and Compliance. Additionally, she works with the other executives directing company growth and policy. She works in a fast pace environment, has high expectations of herself and her employees, is passionate about Chuze, has a deep appreciation for people, and a wicked sense of humor. She expects to learn from you and will in turn teach you what she has learned.

    Responsibilities/Regular Work Activities (includes but not limited to):

    Work with CAO on special projects for all departments company wide

    Assist in dealing with crisis management. (the “crisis du jour”)

    Works with real estate and CEO, managing the lease process from LOI to lease execution

    Manages all property leases, interprets lease provisions, create summaries, and communicates lease requirements with other departments

    Manages and reviews annual NNN reconciliation for each lease ensuring that the correct amounts are remitted

    Works with finance on each property’s NNN monthly escrow amounts ensuring the correct amounts are being remitted and/or accrued. Additionally, works with finance for annual budget on NNN estimations

    Interfaces with Landlord and Property Managers on timely lease documents such as Estoppels, SNDAs’, and Collateral Access Agreements.

    Liaison with outside Counsel. (Corporate, Real Estate, & Trademark) on various matters.

    Review and provide insight on other legal documents such as non-disclosure agreements and statements of work

    Review & manage database of all company contracts, coordinating with all departments. All contracts will flow through this department

    Manages and coordinates board meetings and creation of meeting minutes

    Assists in managing stock options and refinancing

    Updates all organizational charts

    Able to identify and address the needs of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

    Act as gatekeeper to the CAO and use sound judgment when prioritizing tasks

    Ability to work with leaders in all departments, diplomacy and problem solving will be key

    Prioritize and manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred

    Minimum of 5 years work experience in Lease Administration, Contract Management, Real Estate Law, Property Management or a related field

    Financial background preferred

    Ability to work independently, prioritize, take initiative to investigate and resolve problems using sound judgment

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions

    Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and advise on appropriate responses to critical situations

    Goal setting, organizational, and accountability skills

    Pays extreme attention to detail

    Excellent working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Word, and Google Docs.

    Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

    The position is located in San Diego, in the Mission Valley area.

    Store training at a minimum of 2 weeks will be required.

    Attendance at Chuze culture training will be required.

    Background check required.

    Schedule:

    Work week is typically Monday-Friday; however, weekends will be requested at times.

    Travel required.
