We are currently seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview: As an Optometric Assistant at Cicero Family Eye Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting our optometrists and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for eye care to contribute to a positive and professional patient environment.

Responsibilities:

Fluency in verbal AND electronic communication is expected.

Conduct preliminary exam tests and other diagnostic tests on patients, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, ocular alignment, retinal imaging, and visual field.

Obtain and record accurate patient medical histories, which requires concise written skills.

Instruct patients on the proper use and care of contact lenses.

Maintain and calibrate optometric equipment.

Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and organization.

Collaborate with the optometry team to deliver outstanding patient care.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in optometry or ophthalmology is required.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in optometry or related field is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

Proficient computer skills, including data and file management in electronic health record systems. Compliance with HIPAA standards.

Competitive salary $18-$20 per hr depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Mo-Th 8:30am-5:15pm, Fr 8:30am-2pm)
