A Product Verification (PV) Engineer is required to aid in the verification of leading edge, PC-based, network design and engineering applications.  The applications will assist customers in the design and development of Optical DWDM networks featuring Ciena’s market leading and pioneering optical products and technologies.  
The successful candidate will be expected to follow a disciplined approach to develop and execute system test strategies, test plans and execute testing of the application, in order to ensure the application is delivered with high quality, as per the required specifications, and by the required delivery date.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of PV engineers, system engineers and software developers.

•  

  Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on system requirement documents and high level development documents

• Execute test cases for new feature and regression testing, report issues, retest problem resolution
• Document test results, issues found, and generate progress and status report during test cycle
• Automate existing test cases using the existing automation infrastructure

• Develop and execute test plans in the following areas:  optical transport, DWDM, SONET/SDH/OTN services, or Layer 2 GbE services
• Work collaboratively with optical systems engineers, software developers, and product validation team
