Job Description
Summary/Objective: The accounting supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end and year-end reports are completed accurately and on-time.
Essential Functions
Hire, train, and develop employees that report directly to this role. Coach, mentor, develop, nurture and discipline as needed.
Responsible for supervising the accounting procedures of the company and ensuring accuracy of the financial data entered into the accounting systems.
Audit the work of the accounting staff to ensure accuracy of recorded financial data.
Process accounts payable and carrier settlements.
Recommend and implement continuous improvements throughout the accounting and administrative functions.
Must have strong work ethic and be well organized and a self-starter
Detail oriented, professional attitude – the ability work through highly detailed processes with reliability
Strong problem-solving skills, accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
True team player – work together with members of administration team to complete tasks outside normal responsibilities

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or an equivalent number of years of relevant experience
At least 7 years of accounting or business management experience
