    ASSISTANT ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER

With offices in Oakland, San Jose, and Orange the firm specializes in communications and environmental consulting for California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?  Circlepoint is looking for a full-time experienced, highly‑motivated and assertive Assistant Planner to join our Environmental Practice in our Orange office.     WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS POSITION?  The Assistant Planner will play a supportive role to the Deputy Project Manager, Project Manager, and/or Principal-In-Charge.  This position will be responsible for supporting various roles in the development and publication of environmental documents, including independent drafting of clear and concise CEQA/NEPA document sections that demonstrate a high level of analytical analysis and understanding, conducting research, assisting in document production, and maintaining project files. 

    WHAT SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR?  A candidate with the following skills will succeed in the position:  effective communication and writing; ability to work independently; a high level of analytical analysis and technical understanding of CEQA/NEPA topics; strong time management skills; ability to work within time and budget constraints; exceptional attention to detail; top-notch organization skills; and team player.

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Experience:  Minimum 1 year direct experience in CEQA and/or NEPA or related field
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in environmental studies, urban planning, technical writing, or an associated field 
    • Working knowledge of CEQA fundamentals
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and Excel 
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and have a current driver's license and access to personal transportation
