    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Administrator to join our team. This role provides an opportunity to work on the City's network infrastructure. You will perform preventative maintenance, resolve end-user requests, and perform network administration duties. Additionally, you will engage with AI-driven systems to optimize network performance and enhance our troubleshooting capabilities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on networking hardware and software components.

    • Prioritize, document, and actively resolve end-user help requests, providing operational assistance for software and hardware issues.

    • Perform network administration duties, including managing LANs, firewalls, security, and network access control systems for both wired and wireless networks.

    • Own assigned tasks and possibly serve in a lead role or train staff on day-to-day operations.

    • Maintain security and privacy of information in databases and supervise specific access levels for each database segment.

    • Test or coordinate testing of new installations or upgrades to the network.

    • Install and support network operating systems and provide advanced level support to resolve end-user problems.

    • Analyze network maintenance and enhancement needs, recommending effective solutions.

    • Ensure compliance with network policies and procedures, contributing to the development of standards and methodologies.

    • Be available to handle emergency network issues, ensuring network stability and performance.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

    • At least 1 year of experience in network administration or a related field.

    • Familiarity with network hardware, software, and security practices.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under supervision.

    • Eager to learn and develop skills in network maintenance and troubleshooting.

    • Good communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
