  • Responsibilities

    Objective: The Facilities Manager will oversee the management and operations of all of the physical facilities of the Citizens Church. They will partner with the ministries of the church by leading staff, volunteers, and vendors to ensure spaces and places are properly prepared, operational, maintained, safe, and secure. Physical facilities include all aspects of the structures and property including the buildings, grounds, parking lot, equipment, systems, security, inventory/FF&E, and housekeeping services. The Facilities Manager will also lead the organization in strategic areas such as staff communication, helping hands ministry opportunities, property acquisition, event management, construction, project management, vendor relations, cost benefit analysis, and master planning.

    Location: Plano, Texas

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Track, prioritize, and delegate tasks to Facilities Associate and vendors, ensuring completion in a timely fashion (including building inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, landscape, waste management, security, room setups, etc.)

    Communicate impact and/or status of requests to requestors

    Ensure all church facilities and grounds are well maintained and ready for Sunday services and mid-week events

    Ensure proper supplies and equipment are available

    Coordinate with staff for for ministry events and special events (e.g. weddings)

    Schedule security team for ministry events

    Ensure regular maintenance schedules are in place and performed

    Implement, monitor, and follow policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and provide efficient use of labor and materials

    Manage vendor relationships, including bid requests, selection, contract negotiation, and renewals

    Propose, implement, and monitor the annual Facilities and Security budgets

    Identify problems, solutions and analyze cost benefits associated with projects and major repairs

    Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require off hour responsibilities

    Develop and manage a volunteer facilities team, including capabilities and schedules to support both the church and its members

    Act as point of care for the facilities team staff and volunteers

    Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and retreats

    Lead major construction projects including remodels, additions, and retrofits including architectural, contractor, and permit oversight

    Help in the acquisition of new properties as needed including property searches, inspections, and inventories

    Create and maintain a multi-year master plan for facilities to help communicate vision and drive stewardship of resources

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    Maintenance and technician experience desirable

    3-5 years in facilities or operations management or a related occupation

    Knowledge of the practices, methods, and equipment utilized in facility maintenance, construction, and repair activities; including skills and abilities related to plumbing, janitorial, electrical systems, painting, carpentry, construction and heating and air conditioning systems

    Knowledge of security practices and protocol related to facility management

    Knowledge of safety practices and applicable regulations

    Must be computer literate with knowledge in Google Suite software

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Strong administrative and organizational skills

    Knowledge of the approaches and techniques involved in budgeting, labor relations, contract management, project management, record keeping, etc.

    Capable of coordinating multiple tasks and adjusting to the changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and scheduling of a growing church

    Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative

    Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities and tight deadlines, work under pressure and remain flexible

    Ability to recruit and train others so the church is fully equipped to respond to any need pertaining to grounds and facilities

    Must be able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times

    Demonstrate sound judgment in decision making
