Citrus Technology Scientist – Bartow, FL
We’re seeking a hands-on technical expert to support citrus product development and manufacturing. This role bridges lab-scale innovation with full-scale commercial execution across natural flavor and fragrance platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive pilot-to-production scale-up for citrus-based products
Design processes/equipment for extraction, separation, isolation, and reactions
Serve as technical liaison between R&D, QC, and manufacturing teams
Support Fit-for-Manufacturing (FFM) evaluations and process optimization
Troubleshoot equipment, process, and analytical instrumentation issues (GC/LC)
Oversee analytical and quality control testing at the Citrus Center
Lead new equipment commissioning: design → install → train
Support safe operations (GMP, HACCP, PSM, LOTO, ISO 14001/45001)
Qualifications:
B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science
5–10 years in citrus flavor or ingredient processing (R&D, Pilot, Manufacturing)
Experience with chromatography, CAD process design, and scale-up
Six Sigma or Lean training a plus
Location: Bartow, Florida
Travel: Minimal (~5%)
