    Lied Lodge & Conference Center, located in Nebraska City, Nebraska, is seeking a driven individual to perform culinary functions that meet the high standards necessary to provide an exceptional dining experience in the Timber Dining Room and for special banquet events. The right candidate for this challenging position will be highly motivated, willing to learn, able to multi-task and must work well under pressure. This position reports to the Executive Chef and provides an excellent opportunity to launch your culinary career. An energetic personality, combined with the desire to enhance the Arbor Day Foundation’s mission through guest and team member interactions, is crucial for this role.

    • Works with culinary team to prepare exceptional quality food
    • Has a desire to be great and work in an atmosphere that holds that same expectation
    • Comes in with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Maintain and complete daily prep lists, cleaning lists, and tasks
    • Ability to multitask in day to day prep items
    • Ensures food, garnishments, and plate presentations are adhered to standards
    • Produces recipes efficiently and consistently
    • Is open to working in both banquets and the line
    • Inspects food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices
    • Open availability is preferred, but weekends and holidays will be a must.
    • Ensures food is prepared within adequate timeframe
    • Performs simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats
    • Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers.
    • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Lied Lodge & Conference Center dress code standards.

    Experience and Education required:   

    • High school education required
    • 1 year on Experience as a cook preferred
