MEDICAL ECONOMICS ANALYST ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with Executives and External Client Prospects to understand client specific trends of services related to currently managed programs
- Study client specific data at multiple geographical and clinical levels to identify utilization and cost trends and provide recommendations & Insights around client trends.
- Provide analytical insights into areas of opportunity for Prospective Clients
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, insights, and outliers within data
- Identify trends/opportunities in unmanaged and managed populations and work with the Analytics Manager/ Executives to present findings
- Participate in prospective client consultation meetings as needed to provide further insights and details about results and findings
- Present weekly trend findings during Executive Trend Meetings to appropriate areas within the organization and make recommendations based on findings
Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics or any related fields. Master degree in the afore-mentioned fields preferred.
- 2+ years of healthcare industry knowledge and experience in the managed care organizations.
- 2+ years of medical cost, utilization, cost benefit analysis, claims and data warehouse experience
- Critical and Analytical thinking skills – understanding data and translating into program opportunities
- Aptitude to communicate complex analytical findings and conclusions in an easy to understand way to key business leaders for internal and external client leadership team.
- Consultative skills with a potential for a high frequency of client facing activities and meetings
- Technical Skills – intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Experience extracting necessary data and calculating metrics related to Healthcare Quality (i.e. HEDIS, NCQA, etc.)
- Extracting, manipulating, and analyzing Big Data and then using it to draw relevant conclusions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel-based modeling required
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and manage tight deadlines
- Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to and fielding questions from clients
- Past experience in Analytic Consulting Role preferred
- Proven ability to lead projects
