Primary Function
The Custodian is responsible for maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning and restocking restrooms.
Reports to: Executive Director, Operations Director, and Community Engagement Director
Duties and Responsibilities
● Performs general, routine custodial duties to include dusting, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
● Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies
● Empties trash receptacles, dispose trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal
● Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels
● Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
● Assist in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures
● May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions. May report issues with vendors to supervisor
● Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
● HS Diploma, or HS Certificate earning program as major in high school
● First Aid and CPR certified
● Must pass a background check
● Compliance with all rules and regulations of For My Kidz and the FMK Employee Handbook
● Able to lift at least 50 lbs and able to occasionally do heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of certain objects
● Ability to understand verbal instructions and follow safety procedures as it pertains to all building operations and building operational equipment
