    JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:  Assists Kitchen Supervisor; collects and washes dishes used for daily meal preparation and serving; assists in general kitchen responsibilities such as polishing equipment, storing and organizing supplies, and general cleaning.

    THE HOURS FOR THIS PART-TIME POSITION WILL BE 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1.   Collect and wash dishes used for daily meal preparation and service.

    2.   Clean and maintain dishwashing area and multi-purpose room tables, chairs, and floors.

    3.   Clean and maintain home delivery meal coolers and equipment.

    4.   Clean and polish equipment racks and food preparation and service areas.

    5.   Coordinate volunteer job assignments.

    6.   Ensure all applicable health and safety requirements are observed.

    THE ABOVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THOSE TASKS, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS, VISUAL REQUIREMENTS, UNIQUE PHYSICAL SURROUNDINGS AND MENTAL/COGNITIVE ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE POSITION.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    1.   EDUCATION AND SPECIAL LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATIONS – High school diploma or equivalent.

    2.   EXPERIENCE – At least 3 months of experience using commercial dishwashers and other commercial

      kitchen equipment preferred.

    3.   SKILLS – Skill in operating commercial dishwasher; skill in preparing cleaning solutions; skill in

      cleaning commercial dishwashers, commercial kitchen equipment, and food preparation and serving

          areas; skill in coordinating the work of volunteers.

    4.   COMPETENCIES – Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and supervisory

          staff; ability to organize supplies, equipment, and available staff to complete necessary assignments;

          ability to coordinate work assignments within the overall objectives of the division.

    5.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – Must be able to stand for prolonged periods; must be able to walk

          frequently; must be able to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and use controls, equipment,

          and tools; must be able to reach with hands and arms; vision must be sufficient to see close up, and

          must have the ability to adjust focus, and must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds and

          transport it up to 15 feet.

    6.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY – Provides work direction to assigned volunteer staff.
