POSITION PURPOSE

Under general supervision, performs general park maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Organizes and conducts summer programs for area children.
• Assists with Recreational programs.
• Picks up trash in parks, ball field areas, and tennis courts.
• Cleans restrooms, picnic shelters, and dugouts.
• Helps maintain walking trails.
• Cleans all park facilities including gyms.
• Keeps storage rooms, equipment, and cleaning supplies organized and inventoried.
• Assist with recognizing & correcting safety concerns in all park facilities.
• Performs other work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 16 years of age or older.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S):

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
• Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
• Must consent to and pass a criminal background check.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
• Work knowledge of light duty maintenance equipment such as vacuums, buffers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and leaf blowers.
• Ability to organize cleaning supplies and equipment and to maintain inventory sheets.
• Ability to perform routine operations involved in custodial duties and heating and cooling system operation without immediate supervision.
• Basic skills in making minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public.
