    Job Description

    The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York Bureau City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect
    the people, reduce fear and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations, and solve the
    problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police, and by pioneering strategic innovation.

    The mission of the School Safety Division is to work collaboratively with school administration to provide a safe environment, conducive to learning, where students and faculty can be free from hostility and disruptions which could negatively impact the educational process. The School Safety Division is responsible for the safety of over 1.1 million students in over 1,800 schools located in approximately 1,400 physical sites throughout New York City’s five (5) boroughs.

    The School Safety Division seeks to hire two (2) qualified candidates in the title of Associate Staff Analyst.

    The School Safety Division's Administrative Operations conducts all financial, budgetary, personnel and general administrative operations required to fulfill the mission statement of the Division. The Administrative Operations Command seeks qualified candidates to ensure time and payroll functions are processed and completed according to Department policies and procedures.

    The candidates will also assist with chronic attendance monitoring, Special Patrolman status renewals, overtime permits, personnel evaluation tracking, and other administrative tasks as needed by the Command.

    1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee
    benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area; or
    2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in “1" above.
