Position Summary: Civil Construction Inspector
We are currently seeking a Civil Construction Inspector (CEI) with hands-on experience in construction oversight for municipal water and sewer systems, roadway construction, and site infrastructure. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team on impactful public infrastructure projects in and around the Chicago area.
Key Responsibilities: Civil Construction Inspector
- Monitor and document daily construction activities on active job sites.
- Maintain thorough daily inspection logs and submit detailed weekly reports.
- Track labor, materials, quantities, and overall progress against plans.
- Review contractor pay applications and verify quantities for payment.
- Assist the engineering team in reviewing claims, RFIs, and change orders.
- Support as-built documentation efforts and verify construction against design intent.
- Monitor contractor schedules and assist in municipal permitting compliance.
- Act as a liaison between engineers, contractors, municipal officials, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications: Civil Construction Inspector
- Minimum of 3 years of construction inspection and/or construction management experience, ideally within civil, municipal, or utility infrastructure.
- Strong communication and documentation skills – must be able to generate clear written and digital reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with web-based document and construction management systems.
- Valid driver's license required; a company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel.
- Must be comfortable navigating active construction sites and working independently in the field.
