    Civil Construction Project Manager - Civil Construction - Base Salary to 125k/year - Ricland County - Columbia, SC

    • AllSearch Recruiting is searching for a Civil Construction Project Manager for our client in Richland County (Columbia). The Project Manager will oversee heavy civil and site development projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. Working closely with field leadership and executive management, the Civil Construction Project Manager is responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and client coordination while supporting the successful execution of complex civil construction projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects from initiation through closeout, including planning, execution, monitoring, and final project delivery.
    • Collaborate with General Superintendents, Superintendents, and Foremen to maintain strong coordination between field and office operations and foster a productive team environment.
    • Develop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial tracking, ensuring projects remain within approved financial targets.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements to ensure timely completion.
    • Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project scopes, specifications, and quality standards are met.
    • Oversee procurement activities, including subcontractor solicitation, bid evaluations, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
    • Monitor construction progress through regular site visits and inspections, identifying potential risks, schedule impacts, or cost issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
    • Manage change orders, cost adjustments, and project modifications, maintaining clear documentation and communication with all stakeholders.
    • Prepare and respond to submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and project correspondence, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
    • Produce weekly project status reports and provide updates to leadership and stakeholders regarding project progress, budgets, schedules, and risks.
    • Participate in monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) meetings, reviewing financial performance, schedule updates, and project forecasting.
    • Generate and submit monthly progress billings and invoices in accordance with contract terms.
    • Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, drawings, permits, schedules, and project communications within the company’s project management system.
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
    • Review and approve project timesheets, job cost coding, and expense reports to ensure accurate payroll processing and cost tracking.
    • Support business development efforts through participation in meetings and events with developers, mining clients, and public agencies.
    • Assist with recruitment and hiring activities, including candidate screening, interviews, and evaluations for field and project personnel.
    • Maintain required project compliance and safety documentation and attend all required safety, regulatory, and professional training programs.
    • Represent the company professionally in all client, stakeholder, and project interactions

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
    • 5+ years of experience managing heavy civil or site development construction projects.
    • Proven experience overseeing projects involving grading, excavation, utilities, roadway construction, or site development.
    • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and change order management.
    • Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and permitting requirements.
    • Experience coordinating with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and construction management software.
    • Experience with Trimble or similar construction technology platforms preferred.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction regulations and permitting processes.
    • Familiarity with OSHA and MSHA safety regulations.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 115k - 125k/year range
    • 401k available with a 4% match.
    • 90% of the health insurance costs for employees.

    • PTO increases with time employed.
    • Annual bonus is tied to the company and the individual’s performance.
