Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated, technically minded Civil Engineer (five to eight years) to join our team in applying engineering skills to challenging, rewarding projects. This position includes engineering support and travel to projects across the country focused on resilience, energy, and sustainability. Project types may include Battery Energy Storage System (BESS); Microgrids; Hydrogen; Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS); Electric Vehicle (EV) and Fleet Charging; Biomass; Solar Photovoltaic (PV); and Wind Energy. Site design experience in the energy market sector is not a requirement, but interest in the project types is encouraged. The successful candidate will be an outgoing, enthusiastic self-starter, with a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team and be willing to have fun! This successful candidate will be tasked with leading site design, mentoring civil engineers and drafters, and coordinating with clients, jurisdictions, and counterparts across other offices. This position is in-person from the Spokane office with an option for hybrid work (Thursdays & Fridays). Out-of-town travel will be required 5%-10% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Current registration as a Civil Professional Engineer (PE) required
• Five to eight years of professional engineering experience with design, permitting, and construction assistance in a variety of market sectors related to site development
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations; technical studies; and preparation of public improvement, grading, storm water management, and utility plans
• Ability to lead site design and mentor others
• Ability to work independently
• Availability to travel as needed for site visits and meetings
• Enthusiasm in coordinating with a multi-discipline design team
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• A positive, can-do attitude

Expected annual salary of $90,000-$103,000
