    Graduate Civil or Structural Engineer, Federal Construction
    Location: Norfolk, VA | Full-Time | Onsite

    Overview:
    Butterfly Staffing is preparing for an upcoming federal construction project in Norfolk, VA and is seeking a Civil or Structural Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in field leadership roles such as Superintendent, QC Manager, or Project Engineer.

    This role will oversee civil, structural, and architectural elements of the project, ensuring coordination with design requirements, quality control standards, and overall construction execution. Ideal for candidates with strong field engineering backgrounds who are ready to support an active government site from the ground up.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide engineering oversight for civil, structural, and architectural scopes of work
    • Support project field operations by reviewing and interpreting design documents and specifications
    • Coordinate with QC, safety, and site leadership teams to ensure quality and compliance
    • Identify field discrepancies and initiate resolution processes with project engineers and stakeholders
    • Participate in construction meetings, inspections, and progress documentation
    • Monitor subcontractor performance and assist with schedule adherence and planning

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • Minimum 10 years of experience on civil/structural projects in roles such as:
      • Project Superintendent
      • QC Manager
      • Project Engineer
      • Project Manager
      • Construction Manager
    • Proficient in reviewing construction drawings and managing field execution
    • Familiarity with NAVFAC, USACE, or other federal construction standards preferred

    Certifications (Preferred)

    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • OSHA 30 Construction Safety
    • DBIDS access or ability to obtain government base access
