    Job Description

    Join AECOM's Civil Engineering Design Team in Mechanicsburg, PA to work on a variety of challenging and interesting projects that vary in size and scope. We work on a hybrid office schedule with 2 or 3 days remote. This position can alternatively be worked from Conshohocken, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh or Newark DE or Morgantown WV.

    In this role, you would be responsible for working in a team environment with Highway Engineers, Landscape Architects, Building Architects, Structural Engineers and Aviation Project Managers to develop engineering designs for both public and private sector clients, including commercial, industrial, institutional, mixed-use retail, office, and more. There will be lots of opportunity to learn, grow and develop while working with a strong multi-disciplinary team.

    The Job Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

    Provide established career and diversified knowledge in Site Design principles and practices including site visits, constructability reviews, stormwater management design and inspections, site grading, ADA design, erosion and sediment control, CADD principles and standards, plan/permit development and applications, and report and specification writing.

    Design and Engineering: perform all design aspects, including layout and grading utilizing 3-D modeling, earthwork, stormwater management, utility coordination, erosion control, quantities and construction estimates.

    Coordinate with other team members to deliver quality projects in accordance with the accepted schedule and budget.

    Responsible for technical accuracy and QA/QC of work.

    Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required.

    Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution.

    Ensure designs meet federal, state, and local codes and regulations and review technical specifications to align with client needs and project requirements.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering plus 2 years of relevant experience in any or all of the following areas: civil engineering, site design, utility design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment pollution control; including private-sector site/civil engineering experience - OR demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
    • EIT certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in Pennsylvania. Delaware and West Virginia preferred but not required
    • Ability to obtain a PE within three years
    • Proficient in Microstation, InRoads/ORD, AutoDesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft office suite. Experience with Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred
    • Ability to work independently to solve problems and provide design solutions. Flexible with changing assignments with various projects and effectively participating in a team environment
    • Strong expertise site grading, ADA sidewalk compliance, cross section development, plan preparation, and report writing
