    Job Description

    The City of Pueblo is seeking a qualified individual to be our next Civil Engineer in Drainage and it could be you! As the Civil Engineer-Drainage, you’ll provide engineering and technical support related to the operation and maintenance of City stormwater infrastructure, prepare master drainage plans, develop flood proofing measures for structures, perform hydrologic analysis and develop designs for drainage systems. You’ll also directly supervisor employees of the roles of Associate Engineer I and Associate Engineer II within the Stormwater Division.     Qualifications

    ** Education:** Employee must possess one of the following:

    • An ABET-accredited bachelor's degree (or higher) in any engineering field;

    OR

    • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or other Engineering Technology field.

    ** Experience:** Employee must demonstrate they meet the following experience requirement:

    • At least two (2) years of experience in the field of civil engineering, including a minimum of one (1) year of experience in stormwater engineering, management and oversight of construction projects in the public right-of-way, and/or development of stormwater-related construction project scopes of work to include preparation of drawings and specifications.

    Licenses/Credentials: Employee must possess or obtain the following licenses/credentials within the time frames specified:

    • A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
      1. License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
      2. During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license; and
    • Ability to obtain licensure as a professional engineer in the State of Colorado within five (5) years of appointment.
