    Our team is hiring a CESE Motor Vehicle Mechanic Warehouse Support Services for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC), in Williamsburg, VA.

    The CESE Motor Vehicle Mechanic supports the maintenance, inspection, servicing, and repair of Civil Engineering Support Equipment and associated motor vehicle assets in support of Expeditionary Medical Systems (EXMEDS) operations. This position is responsible for maintaining fleet and equipment readiness through effective preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repair actions to support operational availability and mission requirements.

    The Motor Vehicle Mechanic works independently and in coordination with other maintenance and warehouse personnel to ensure CESE and vehicle assets remain safe, serviceable, and available to meet operational and readiness demands.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repair of CESE and diesel-powered motor vehicles
    • Identify mechanical deficiencies through visual inspection, testing, and troubleshooting
    • Conduct routine servicing, including fluid changes, filter replacement, battery service, tire repair and replacement, and brake adjustments
    • Repair and replace mechanical and electrical components, including engines, generators, water pumps, thermostats, wiring, and related systems
    • Assist with more complex maintenance or overhaul efforts by disassembling, cleaning, repairing, and reassembling vehicle components
    • Support vehicle preparation activities such as decal placement, readiness checks, and staging for operational use
    • Safely operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery in support of maintenance activities
    • Maintain accountability of tools, equipment, and materials used in daily operations
    • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with applicable safety practices
    • Coordinate informally with dispatch, warehouse, and maintenance staff to support equipment availability and operational timelines

    Required Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repair of automotive and heavy equipment, including CESE or equivalent military/commercial fleet equipment
    • Experience must cover functions such as: Preventive maintenance, Troubleshooting and repair, Use of technical manuals and maintenance procedures
    • Support of readiness / Ready‑For‑Issue (RFI) standards
    • High School Diploma or GED

    Security Requirements Valid Driver’s License; All NMRLC contractor employees must be U.S. citizens and maintain a favorable federal suitability determination (typically NACI with SF‑85/SF‑85P) sufficient to obtain and retain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) for installation, system, and facility access. Continued eligibility is required throughout contract performance, and loss of CAC or suitability status may result in removal from the contract.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting CESE or similar fleet or industrial equipment.
    • Familiarity with inspection cycles, certification tracking, or readiness reporting.
    • Prior exposure to DoD warehouse, logistics, or maintenance support operations.
    • Experience supporting deployable, expeditionary, or contingency equipment programs.

    • Effective coordination skills with maintenance, warehouse, and operations personnel

    • Working knowledge of safety practices applicable to maintenance and warehouse environments
