Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer in Denver, CO.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations, analyses, and reporting
• Oversee drilling methods, seismic installations, rock and soil sampling, CCTV investigations, construction oversight, and quality control
• Perform field testing
• Prepare engineering calculations and develop technical documents, drawings, and figures
• Cover slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and the design of shallow and deep foundations
• Establish effective working relationships with subcontractors, clients, project managers, and coworkers
• Up to 90% domestic travel required
• Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, or a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field of study and no experience.

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Geotechnical engineering
2. Geotechnical analyses including performing material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses
3. Technical program skills with GeoStudio including Slope/W and Seep/W), UTexas4, Grapher, and AutoCAD Civil3D
4. Developing design reports, drawings, and specifications
5. Laboratory testing of soils and aggregates
6. Finite Element Modeling (FEM) for geotechnical applications
7. Foundation design for shallow and deep foundations
8. Construction monitoring and quality assurance of geotechnical works
9. Completion of at least one case study developing a numerical model to anticipate landslides using geotechnical principles and concepts
