    Job Description

    AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering III in Phoenix, AZ.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate and apply Traffic Engineering principles, standards, and criteria.
    • Interact directly with clients at project meetings and ensure that all client project designs meet engineering standards.
    • Interact directly with other disciplines such as roadway, drainage, structures, Geotech, water, and environment to coordinate design.
    • Adhere to project schedules and budgets and keep project PM/Discipline Lead aware of any issues.
    • Lead the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages based upon agency standards and specifications for traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system design, ITS, roadway lighting, Signing and Pavement Marking, and MOT design.
    • Perform traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation using Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM.
    • Analyze crash data to identify crash patterns and probable causes, develop collision and condition diagrams. conduct predictive safety analysis.
    • Perform photometric analysis using AGi32 and Visual lighting.
    • Participate in transportation planning assignments, corridor studies, safety studies, and IAJR reports.
    • Prepare technical memorandums and papers for clients and/or internal distribution.
    • Conduct field reviews. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and team members.
    • Manage small to medium size projects independently. Manage big size projects under the guidance of senior project managers.
    • May telecommute.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in a Civil Engineering related role
    • In the alternative the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered, or in an engineering-related occupation.

    Position requires:

    1. Proposals, writing reports, analysis and modeling using software including Microstation Geopak and OpenRoads;
    2. CAD, ITS Design, Traffic Engineering Design, and Lighting Design
    3. VISSIM, HCS, and AGi32
    4. AutoCAD
