Job Title: Civil / Structural Engineer – Utility-Scale Solar PV & BESS Projects

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Civil / Structural Engineer with direct experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects, specifically Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate must have hands-on field experience reviewing, supervising, and verifying civil and structural construction activities in accordance with IFC drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.

This role is intended for candidates with practical construction-site experience, not only design, FEED, EPC office support, or structural calculation review.

Key Responsibilities

Review and supervise civil and structural construction activities on utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects.

Verify construction work against IFC drawings, approved specifications, project standards, and applicable codes.

Monitor and inspect earthworks, grading, site preparation, drainage, and civil works.

Review and supervise installation of foundations, piles, concrete structures, equipment foundations, and related structural components.

Oversee and verify construction of steel structures, racking systems, mounting systems, and solar support structures.

Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, field crews, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.

Identify construction deviations, quality issues, and non-conformances, and support corrective actions.

Review field documentation, inspection reports, construction progress, and technical queries.

Support site coordination, schedule alignment, and construction quality compliance.

Participate in field walks, inspections, and construction progress meetings.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.

Direct experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects, preferably Solar PV and/or BESS.

Proven field experience with earthworks and grading.

Proven experience with foundations, piles, concrete structures, and structural concrete works.

Experience with steel structures, solar mounting systems, racking systems, or similar structural support systems.

Demonstrated experience verifying construction compliance against IFC drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards.

Experience supervising or supporting construction activities directly in the field.

Ability to coordinate effectively with EPC contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams, and site personnel.

Strong understanding of construction quality control, inspection processes, and field documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience on large-scale Solar PV projects.

Experience with integrated Solar PV and BESS facilities.

Experience working on Owner’s Engineer, EPC, or field construction management teams.

Familiarity with civil/structural standards, construction codes, and renewable energy project requirements.

Experience with QA/QC documentation, NCRs, RFIs, field reports, and construction punch lists.

PE license or EIT certification is a plus.

Steel structures and mounting systems

IFC drawing review and construction compliance verification

Direct field supervision or construction-site oversight

Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to structural design, FEED/EPC office support, calculation packages, or drawing review without direct construction field supervision may not be considered a full match for this role.
