This associate position is for an attorney to handle primarily pre-litigation cases. Multi-state practice - ideally, the applicant will have an active license in good standing in either of these states: CA, WA, TX, or IL. Remote work is available for the right applicant. Responsibilities: • Handle personal injury case files from start to finish • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information • Supervise and delegate tasks to the team of legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary • Arrange suitable agreements and settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents • Investigate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly • Record and update the status of all case files in the case management system • Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case Qualifications: • State Bar Association membership and state license to practice law is mandatory • Proficiency in computers is vital • A good understanding of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is desired • Requires a bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree • Superb drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills are preferred • Two years of personal injury experience in wrongful death, medical malpractice, and/or personal injury practice areas is a necessity. Compensation: $120,000 - $160,000 yearly
