    JOB SUMMARY

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Claims Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a high-performing unit within our Liability Group, overseeing up to 12 teams of adjusters across multiple states. This pivotal role is responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing efficient processes, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the claims lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automobile insurance claims, particularly in non-standard auto, with expertise in Property Damage (PD) and Casualty claims. This is a leadership opportunity for someone with at least six years of claims experience, including three years in a supervisory role, who is ready to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Overall management of assigned claims liability unit. This includes handling of personnel issues, which range from recruiting/hiring of job candidates to performance management of existing staff. Demonstrating effective leadership qualities through effective communication with both staff and Sr. Management combined with an ability to attain desired company goals (ie, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, etc.)

    Responsibility for management of Physical Damage and Bodily Injury claims to ensure the Loss Ratio remains acceptable. Effectively overseeing the repair management and rental processes, combined with maintaining a consistent result in BI/UMBI cash outs, is critical.·

    Responsibility for the Average Days to Close PD and Comp/Coll claims to ensure speedy resolution of claims for our customers.

    Responsibility for maintaining excellent quality of work product in the Claims Department by means of our internal audits.

    Responsibility for the results of our Claims Survey results, which are directly tied to your ability to recruit, interview, and select qualified personnel. In addition, you must coordinate the job training efforts for your entire staff as well as develop current Supervisors and Team Leaders.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    College degree required.

    A law degree or professional designation from our industry such as CPCU preferred.

    A minimum of 6 years overall Claims experience with at least 3 of those years in supervisory positions.

    Thorough knowledge of automobile insurance claim practices and procedures, with special emphasis on non-standard automobile claims.

    Expertise in all facets, including PD and Casualty claims, and knowledge of the civil laws and insurance regulations within the 14 states of operation.

    Candidate must also have working knowledge of the Underwriting side of the business and how it affects the claim handling process.

    General knowledge of claims systems, such as SIS, SDS, PMSC, or other branded or proprietary software.

    Supervisory experience, ability to meet deadlines, knowledge of law, anatomy, medical practices, and automobile repair.
