    The Quality Department is committed to preventing disease, ensuring patient safety, and eliminating inequities by improving the quality of care received by members through partnerships with providers and community-based organizations. Under direct supervision of the Health Promotion Supervisor, this position is responsible for:

    • Supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of health education functions essential to advance the general health status of CenCal Health's members
    • Contributing to the advancement of CenCal Health's Health Promotion Program to improve population health and achieve health equity, including but not limited to, contributions to the design, implementation, and year-round maintenance of:
      • Innovative health promotion interventions to improve quality of care in the identified Health
      • Promotion and Population Health Management priorities
      • Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) required to document CenCal Health's resource commitment and activities to improve select aspects of care
      • Specific health promotion and education initiatives targeted to specific populations

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Master's Degree in Public Health with a health education or health promotion emphasis, or a Master's Degree in Community Health with a specialization in health education or health promotion, or certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES)
    • Knowledge of health behavior theory and health promotion principles and methods to effectively outreach to the Medi-Cal/Medicaid membership
    • Knowledge of health education principles, methods, materials and resources to improve population health
    • Knowledge of health literacy and methods for readability testing of written materials and developing culturally and linguistically appropriate resources

    Desired**

    • Bilingual in Spanish
    • Two (2) years' work experience in health education
    • Experience working with Medicaid or limited-literacy populations

    Compensation

    • $60,000-90,000 per year
