    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Underwriter is responsible for underwriting residential loans ensuring credit worthiness and risk assessment, compliance with all federal and secondary market investor standards. Underwriter is responsible for examining and accessing loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and ability to repay, rendering credit-risk decisions and subsequent clearing of conditions to ensure all applicable federal guidelines are met.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·         Perform a detailed review of the residential mortgage loan application and documentation as submitted to ensure loans meet agency and client underwriting guidelines.

    ·         Review, analyze, and confirm AUS requirements to ensure all submitted information is accurate and meets investors standards.

    ·         Analyze borrower’s credit profile, collateral, and capacity to repay the proposed mortgage obligation.

    ·         Review property appraisal.

    ·         Accurately calculate borrower’s income and debt-to-income ratios based on acceptable agency and company practices.

    ·         Develop and maintain knowledge of multiple loan product guidelines.

    ·         Document lending decisions and complete required screens within our client’s LOS, as well as adding and/or creating applicable conditions on the loan decision letter.

    ·         Review conditions submitted on loans and sign off on conditions where appropriate.

    ·         Provide quality control responses in a timely manner.

    ·         Meet the minimum daily production goals plus clearing conditions and perform within department audit standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATION

    SO HOW DO YOU BECOME PART OF THIS FANTASTIC GROUP OF PEOPLE? MEETING THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS IS A GOOD PLACE TO START!

    ·         Require a minimum 5+ years of experience in Front-End / Origination mortgage underwriting for credit worthiness prior to closing.

    ·         Excellent written / oral communication skills.

    ·         Proficient in underwriting of conventional / conforming, Jumbo, Non-QM, and Equity / HELOC products

    ·         High attention to detail and effective problem solving.

    ·         Proficiency in pipeline management with ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.

    ·         Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.

    ·         Proficiency with Encompass and other loan origination systems, automated underwriting engines, imaging and other systems is preferred.

    ·         Ability to work independently.
