    Position Overview:

    The Associate Scientist role will be a key team member joining our Environmental Solutions Team and will report to the Senior R&D Engineer. This position works closely with industrial PFAS wastewater in a laboratory scale setting. This position will be responsible for preliminary water quality tests (e.g., pH, hardness, alkalinity, etc.) and bench scale tests to evaluate the performance of our ClarosTech treatment solutions on customer-specific wastewater. The Associate Scientist will also assist in processing data and preparing customer/internal reports (e.g., figures, slides, and reports). The selected candidate will receive thorough training in experimental procedures and data presentation techniques.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Become the expert on the operation of Claros PFAS destruction technology
    • Evaluate and execute adjustments as necessary to Claros solutions to ensure the technology meets customer specifications
    • Complete development deliverables as needed to optimize customer proposals, implementations, and continued operation of Claros PFAS destruction technology
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and operation of Claros solutions
    • Perform experiments independently with occasional guidance from senior team members

    Competencies & Skills:

    • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes
    • Strong background in water chemistry
    • Practical experience in one or more of the following processes: coagulation, sand filtration, and membrane separation
    • An eagerness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge in the field of water treatment
    • Excellent teamwork skills, with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
    • Management of multiple projects timelines

    Preferred Experience:

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, or a related field

    • 1-2 years experience working with wastewater treatments, preferably with PFAS (inclusive of academic experience)

    • Attention to detail

    Job Specifications

    • Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000
    • Location: In person at the Claros Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
    • Travel: none
