Job Summary
The Class A Mechanic is responsible for performing comprehensive coach inspections, diagnostics, repairs, alignments, road tests, and required parts installations. This role requires advanced technical skills and the ability to work independently while supporting customers and fellow technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and reconditioning of all vehicle systems and components.
Conduct coach checks, alignments, road tests, and parts installations.
Diagnose and repair vehicles both in-shop and in the field as required.
Utilize diagnostic tools, test equipment, and special tools effectively.
Identify and report additional service needs to the Service Manager, Group Leader, or Foreman.
Demonstrate technical skills and provide guidance to other technicians as needed.
Participate in required service training programs to maintain and enhance technical expertise.
Complete all required service documentation, reports, and forms accurately and timely.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Properly care for department tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional presence when interacting with customers.
Perform additional service-related duties as assigned by Service Management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Class A Mechanic, or a combination of technical school and relevant experience.
Must meet TNA Service A Technician requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to diagnose failure modes using Technical Manual procedures and specialized tools.
Capable of complete component removal, installation, disassembly, and reconditioning per Technical Manuals.
Ability to safely operate all vehicle functions marketed by TNA.
Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Must have current authorization to work in the United States.
Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
