  • Responsibilities

    This position of Safety Programs Administrator will work within the Clayco Safety Department and support our overall safety program within the team and the company, at large. The focus of this position will be to maintain and communicate the written programs as well as the forms and documentation used in the field to manage safety on Clayco construction sites across the country. Additional responsibilities include supporting the needs and requests of the Safety Team.

     

    The Safety Programs Administrator would report directly to the Safety Education & Programs Manager, as well as work with the Senior VP – Risk Management and entire Safety Department with primary responsibilities to include:

    • Manage the written Safety Programs and corresponding Safety & Health Code that directs safe work on our construction projects, followed by our field supervisors and subcontractors
      • Conduct annual review and as-needed updates and communicate those revisions
      • Assist in adapting programs and documents for state and owner-specific regulations and guidelines
    • Mange a library of safety forms and documentation pieces. This includes creation and maintenance of the forms as well their availability and distribution through an online system, insuring the most current versions are available and in use.
      • Conduct regular reviews of these pieces and provide updated revisions, communicated to all necessary parties as required
      • Work to provide both English and Spanish versions or bilingual versions of these documents (ability to speak/write Spanish is a plus, but not required)
    • Manage relevant safety training records
      • Oversee and review a digital collection process/library to insure training certifications of Clayco employees are current
    • Maintain protocols for emergency response in our offices
      • Work with Safety Department to conduct annual reviews of the protocols and publish updates as needed
    • Provide relevant safety program documentation and information as requested to complete bid and proposal pieces
    • Compile and distribute supporting material for special safety initiatives (Toolbox Talks, Safety Week material, Home for the Holidays)

    DESIRABLE SKILLS

      • Basic knowledge of construction safety (OSHA 1926)
      • Professional writing skills – ability/style varied from writing for the field (Toolbox Talks) to writing for programs/contracts (written programs, Bids/RFPs)
      • Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint experience a plus
      • Strong communication and organization abilities
