    Summary Description:

    Clayco is seeking a talented individual to join our growing sustainability team based in Overland, Kansas City, Chicago or Culver City. We leverage the best and brightest people, processes, data, and technology to make a sustainable impact across our projects. In this role, you will work closely with the sustainability team across the Clayco enterprise. The sustainability team leads corporate and project level sustainability efforts. You will work in a diverse, fast-moving, dynamic team collaborating with experts in different business units, various industry and market sectors.

    About this role:

    • Conduct research and analysis using various research tools (LEED Online, ENERGY STAR, AIA DDx, CBECS, DSIRE, IncentiFind).
    • Perform analysis using various data sets and work with various people and cross-functional teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of analysis and research.
    • Collect sustainability data from across the enterprise and centralize.
    • Maintain/update information on green building compliance regulations, available green building incentives, energy codes (municipal, city, state, federal), green building rating systems (LEED, WELL, Passive House) and the like.
    • Participate in team and client meetings to collaborate on research findings.
    • Develop a detailed understanding of our sustainability data structure(s) and tools used to manage data.
    • Responsible to maintain internal sustainability performance reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis
    • Develop an understanding of sustainability data and create visualizations for internal and external use
    • Support business development research and analysis to prepare for client meetings
    • Support sustainable design and construction efforts are warranted

    What You’ll Need

    • Bachelor’s degree with preference for environmental science, sustainability, business/financial or another relevant concentration
    • Professional work experience in a sustainability research role or data analyst role preferred, ideally in professional services or industry.
    • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities and able to resolve issues under tight time frames.
    • Proven ability to take initiative on projects
    • Adept at working on multiple workstreams and with multiple stakeholders.
    • Proficient to advanced PPT, Excel, and research skills are fundamental to success in this role.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Understanding of greenhouse gas emissions (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTI), ESG reporting, green buildings is a bonus.
