    Clayco Design and Engineering (CDE) Internship

    As a CDE Intern you will have the opportunity to work with an experienced, multi-disciplinary team of engineering professionals to develop projects from the conceptual stage to the final phase of construction. Our projects exist in the food & beverage, manufacturing, e-commerce, and distribution market sectors.

    The Specifics of the Role

    • Work with CDE Engineers to help design and refine client processes and facilities.
    • Develop 2D and 3D models of client facilities and processes in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Plant 3D, and STAAD.
    • Build client and subcontractor relationships. Speak with vendors and solicit proposals for project equipment.
    • Travel to CDE Project Sites to help develop and refine solutions for our clients.
    • Work on developing cutting edge engineering deliverables that will create tomorrow’s manufacturing technology.

    Education/Experience/Attributes/Requirements:

    • Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University (Major in an Engineering or Technical Design Discipline preferred).
    • General knowledge of engineering and CAD principles/practices required.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
    • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Self-starter who can work well on a team.
    • Capable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.

    Some things you should know

    • In this role you will assist Engineering and Technical team members in managing design and engineering projects for clients in the food & beverage, distribution, pharmaceutical, chemical manufacturing, and consumer product spaces.
    • The internship program culminates in a final presentation at the end of the summer to be viewed by fellow CDE team members.
