    Job Description

    We’re looking for a Lab Pack Chemist eager to grow a career with us.  In this role, you’ll receive all the training you need.  You’ll consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures.  You will provide outstanding service to clients and maintain records with accuracy and attention to detail.  Specifically:

    Conduct large and small Lab Pack projects.  Segregate, pack, transport materials and complete documentation in accordance with all governmental, customer, and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures

    Perform on-site testing of unknown materials adhering to all regulations and company guidelines

    Provide on-the-job training to Technicians and Operators in equipment operation, service line processes, and required documentation

    Maintain records for DOT, DEA, and other government entities as assigned.  Instruct, provide feedback, direct and assist team in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with all applicable regulations and internal policies, practices and procedures

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Our qualified candidate will have an Associate’s degree in environmental science, biology or chemistry; 1+ year(s) of experience packing, labeling, and preparing for transportation chemicals and hazardous waste, and a 40-hour Hazwoper certificate.

    By law, candidates must be 21 years of age.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, biology, or chemistry
    • Experience leading or supervising a team
    • High level of knowledge of RCRA, OSHA and DOT regulations pertaining to hazardous waste handling and transportation
    • Awareness of DEA regulations pertaining to controlled pharmaceuticals
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
    • Willing and able to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including respirator, eye protection, foot protection, Tyvek coveralls, etc.
    • CDL Class B with HazMat endorsement, or willingness to obtain at company expense
    • Willing and able to travel overnight via automobile/truck approximately 20% of the time.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
