Job Description

$1500 SIGN-ON BONUS! Paid in three equal payments at 4, 8 and 12 months of employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples, using applied methods and techniques, and policies of this company
• Enter quantities, volumes and analytical results into waste management software (WMS/Preview)
• Assist with QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit.
• Follow all approved Laboratory SOPs
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.  
• Assist in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Associates degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry or related degree
• One year experience in related industry (can include Lab Assistant work while in school)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Four-year degree in Environmental Related Science, Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry preferred, with one-year experience in related industry
• Must have working knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and the ability to learn new processes. 
• Must complete company-paid 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office or related software to draft laboratory reports and enter test results
• Demonstrates the ability to complete various paperwork requirements properly.
• Demonstrates an operational knowledge of tools, equipment and tasks on job.
