Job Description

The Marketing Intern will assist the HCI Hospitality marketing team with a myriad of projects, gaining real world experience during their school years. This semester long position will help apply principles of current studies in marketing and related fields and provide the student with several projects that will be portfolio worthy. The marketing intern will ideally work at least 20 hours a week alongside the marketing team located in Manhattan, Kansas.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist with social media posts for multiple brands across the organization.
• Monitor social media platforms and respond to guest comments.
• Help with the creation, development, and distribution of marketing materials.
• Conduct market research for existing and new markets.
• Assist with planning and execution of marketing events as needed.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Hospitality or a related field required.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Self-starter, able to work independently and within a group.
• Curiosity and inquisitiveness a must.
• A creative knack for social media.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or related design programs preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Interest or experience with photography a plus.
