Job Description

 POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Assistant will provide support to our accounting department. They will aid in keeping track of records, financial transactions, and Bookkeeping. The Accounting Assistant will perform basic office duties such as, filing, data entry, and preparing financial reports. They will assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Help record day to day financial transactions.
• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
• Monitor financial transactions and reports for accuracy.
• Process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Process checks.
• Updating ledgers.
• Aid in Generating Profit and Loss statements.
• Work with an accountant when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A keen and consistent attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement.

EXPERIENCE:

• At least two years Accounting experience, preferably within a business-services environment.
• At least one year minimum (two years preferred) with Quickbooks Premier Accountant Edition 2017 (or similar).
