Business Data Analyst

ClearPoint is looking for an individual to provide expertise for data collection design, data organization, data visualization and other reporting; analyze data using various statistical and reporting systems. This position will work closely with the operations team and senior management to manage and utilize all company data. Additionally, this role will serve as a key member of the development team for our proprietary system liaising with business partners and developers to ensure an effective development cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Design, analyze, and redesign query formulas to generate accurate reporting of key performance indicators
• Interpreting data, analyzing results using the appropriate data analysis tools and techniques and providing ongoing catalog of reports as assigned by the manager
• Provide business and data analysis to determine trends, exceptions, proactive alerts, and make recommendations to the project team and broader business
• Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, and recommend process improvements
• Assess and identify areas for improvement (business processes, systems development ) to assist the organization in striving for best practices in data management and reporting
• Assist in analysis projects by updating and verifying data, and providing ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders
• Act as the first point of escalation for data & complex reporting related issues
• Develop analysis and reporting tools to support leaders' accurate and timely assessment of productivity opportunities in the method that best supports the business
• Define end to end processes (customer centric) for key functional capabilities
• Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing for each release
• Responsible for process definition and documentation for key customer use cases
• Document business requirements, evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the best designs for the business
• Responsible for participating in and contributing to cross functional projects
• Perform all duties and work projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced working knowledge of data mining using SQL, Excel
• Experience with database analysis and BI tools such as Access, Tableau, Power BI or SQL reports
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and data visualization techniques
• Proven planning, leadership, teamwork and communication skills
• Analytical self-starter who appreciates working independently or part of a team
• The ability to analyze a complex set of data and present the analysis in a comprehensive but succinct way
• Bachelor of Science required in engineering, statistical sciences, or computer science required or applicable work experience
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to tailor content depending on audience coupled with ability to explain complexity with ease and fluidity
• Continuous improvement mindset. Must take initiative to address issues proactively
• Ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Knowledge of preneed funeral and cemetery trusts is a plus, but not a requirement
