Job Description

We are seeking a full charge bookkeeper to join our growing team! This position is based out of our medical center location, in Houston, Texas with free parking.

The main functions of this position are as follows:

• The creation of financial transactions in ERP accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices for several affiliated operating companies.
• Account for fixed assets, manage deprecation schedules
• Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
• Issue invoices to distributors and customers
• Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government
• Reconcile cash receipts with POS system
• Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
• Maintain the petty cash fund
• Issue financial statements
• Update financial model
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
• Process payroll in a timely manner and remit payroll tax and unemployment withholdings
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

Increase role into HR and General Office Managerial Roles

• Conduct new hire orientation and benefit enrollment
• Account for PTO, Vacation and Sick Days
• Review and apply HR policies
• With management, update employment policies and implement into handbook
• Recruitment

Desired Qualifications: At least one year of related experience in accounting, including: AP/AR, Payroll, Performing Month End Closings, Inventory controls, invoicing and general customer service.

Supervises: None, but some bookkeeping tasks are performed by other individuals within the organization.

Company contributes to health care insurance, provides paid holidays and vacation and has a super cool owner. Travel between Houston and New Jersey offices required from time-to-time.
