THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
We’re seeking an aspiring content writer who’s looking to make his or her mark in the world of ecommerce to join Ricki’s Home Office located in Winnipeg. This role looks after both brands - Ricki’s and cleo. We’re an exciting women’s fashion retailers looking for a professional copy writer that loves to work hard, have fun, and innovate.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for producing e-commerce-optimized and brand-relevant product content for use on retailer e-commerce sites.
Write, edit, and proof e-commerce product page content including, but not limited to, short descriptions (i.e. bulleted or abbreviated descriptions to accommodate page layout designs), long descriptions, enhanced product content.
Input product data and sync images into our current software system to be loaded onto our e-commerce platform.
Procure requested images and copy from cross functional teams.
Work with merchandisers to execute content as per their business needs.
Optimize content using current SEO best practices.
Evaluating your own work for accurate specs, grammar and spelling – the buck stops with you!
Consult with internal E-Commerce Shared teams on a regular basis to ensure open communication of expectations and deliverables.
Maintaining timely and clear inter-departmental communication.
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
At least 2 years’ experience with copywriting/content writing
Degree in related field such as Journalism, English, New Media, Communications or similar
Content coordinator, assistant, copywriter, or related digital position
An adept communicator
Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail; within timelines
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
A self-starter that works well independently, as well as part of a team.
Proven ability to interact with individuals from all levels within the organization.
Experience with digital asset management and content management systems is preferred
Interests in apparel and/or fashion industries
