Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in both Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. As a DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our SQL Server and Azure SQL databases. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing SQL Server Databases and Azure SQL Databases and a deep understanding of advanced concepts such as parallelism, indexing, backup strategies, and SQL tuning and optimization.

Responsibilities:

· You will have to manage and administer multiple Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, ensuring their availability, security, and performance.

· You will have to perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations as required for both SQL Server and Azure SQL Database platforms.

· You must monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks through effective tuning and optimization techniques.

· You will have to develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of data in both on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.

· You will have to design and implement database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions to support application development and data access requirements on both platforms.

· You must ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, and other relevant security measures in both SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.

· You must collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, improve database design, and enhance overall application performance in both platforms.

· You will have to conduct regular capacity planning and database growth projections to ensure scalability and resource utilization optimization in both SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.

· You must perform routine maintenance tasks, such as index maintenance, database integrity checks, and data purging, on both platforms.

· You must monitor and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity errors, and data corruption, in both SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.

· You must stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in SQL Server and Azure SQL database administration and recommend relevant improvements to the existing database infrastructure.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

· You must have minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure.

· You must have strong understanding of concepts such as parallelism, indexing, query execution plans, and SQL tuning.

· You must be proficient in backup and recovery strategies, including full, differential, and transaction log backups.

· You must have experience with Azure SQL Database administration, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.

· You must have knowledge of Azure SQL Database performance optimization and scalability techniques.

· You must have solid understanding of database security principles and best practices for both SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.

· You must have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve database-related issues.

· You must have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

· Microsoft Certification: Azure Database Administrator and SQL Server Database Administrator will be a plus.
