    The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is a highly skilled Registered Nurse who serves as a clinical expert and trusted advisor for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members. This role enhances patient care delivery by providing real-time clinical guidance, mentoring, and support. While the CRN does not hold a formal supervisory position, they function as a key resource to strengthen clinical decision-making and foster continuous improvement within the team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Act as the primary clinical resource for the clinic staff, offering guidance on complex patient care situations, procedures, and any additional need at the RN scope of practice.
    • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
    • Collaborate with the Clinic Office Manager (COM), physicians, medical assistants, and other team members to troubleshoot clinical concerns and optimize patient outcomes.
    • Training and onboarding new clinic staff.
    • In collaboration with the COM, identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to quality initiatives within the clinic.
    • Maintain current knowledge of clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures relevant to the practice setting.
    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and the COM to escalate clinical concerns or highlight training needs.
    • Participate in case reviews, team huddles, and debriefs to support continuous learning and professional growth.

    General Accountabilities _ **** _

    Prepares, administers, and documents in-office injections and vaccines

    • Prepares injection kits
    • Performs lab tests (such as strep, flu, HCG, UA, COVID-19)
    • Enters chart data, including medical conditions and messages in a timely manner
    • Performs EKG, body composition analysis and wound care
    • Equipment and procedure set up, according to instructions
    • Performs medication reconciliation
    • Records medications and supplements in patient charts
    • Print lab reports for physicians
    • Reviews and restocks exam room and lab inventory
    • Maintains a clean and hazard-free workstation
    • Cleans and organizes exam rooms
    • Practices most current safety and health code standards
    • Supports maintaining efficient patient flow
    • Assist with general administrative accountabilities, such as scanning documents to charts
    • Prepare patient forms
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Laboratory Accountabilities ** __**

    • Phlebotomy
    • Proficient in various lab specimen requirements
    • Requisition completion
    • Specimen packaging

    Minimum Qualifications ****

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in outpatient or ambulatory care.
    • Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support peers in a collaborative environment.
    • Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning.
    • Ability to remain calm, supportive, and solution-focused in high-pressure situations.
    • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation standards.
    • BLS certification

    Physical Demands ** __**

    • Must be able to stand and/or sit for duration of shift
    • Must be able to move about the office and to various exam rooms
    • Must be able to move boxes of inventory up to 20 pounds

    Work Environment
