About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic, data-driven, and execution-focused Clinical Director (LMHP) to lead, train, and scale a growing portfolio of mental health programs at Life Consultants Inc. You’ll oversee multiple service lines — including Residential Crisis Stabilization, Community Crisis, Mental Health Skill-Building, Intensive In-Home, and Transitional Housing — ensuring each program operates with excellence, compliance, and measurable outcomes.
You’ll thrive here if you love building systems, developing people, and driving results through process discipline. This role requires both vision and precision: designing for the future while ensuring today’s operations run flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Execution
Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a diverse team of clinicians, supervisors, and direct-care professionals across multiple programs.
Build a culture of ownership, learning, and execution, ensuring staff understand not only what to do but why it matters.
Conduct performance evaluations tied to measurable KPIs (client outcomes, compliance scores, staff retention, documentation timeliness, etc.).
Create and execute growth strategies for each program, identifying new service opportunities and ensuring existing ones meet or exceed performance targets.
Program Oversight & Development
Develop, document, and train staff on standardized clinical processes, workflows, and policies to ensure consistency and quality across all service lines.
Implement and monitor quantitative goals for each program (occupancy rates, billable utilization, discharge follow-up rates, treatment-plan completion timelines, etc.).
Partner with leadership to design and launch new programs that respond to emerging community needs and regulatory changes.
Evaluate program data monthly to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement — and act on them decisively.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure 100% compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and MCO regulations across all programs.
Lead root-cause analyses and create data-driven CAPs and QIPs when deficiencies occur.
Maintain readiness for audits through proactive documentation reviews, staff retraining, and internal monitoring systems.
Translate regulations into clear, practical policies and procedures that staff can consistently follow.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with the Managing Director, HR, and Finance to ensure operations, staffing, and budget align with organizational priorities.
Communicate key metrics and trends to executive leadership — turning data into action plans.
Foster strong partnerships with community agencies, MCOs, and referral sources to support growth and sustainability.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) in Virginia (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT).
Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical experience, with 3+ years of leadership in a multi-program or multi-site environment.
Proven record of building, training, and leading high-performing teams.
Strong command of data analysis, program metrics, and outcome reporting.
Deep understanding of DBHDS, DMAS, and MCO standards.
Exceptional ability to set priorities, delegate effectively, and execute consistently in a fast-paced environment.
Success Looks Like
90%+ program occupancy and service utilization across all programs.
Deliver at least 5% annual growth across all programs through proactive planning, operational excellence, and team accountability.
100% compliance readiness and successful audit outcomes.
Staff retention above 80% within 12 months of hire.
Consistently improving timeliness documentation.
Launch of at least one new or expanded program annually.
