Position Title: Hands-On Clinical Education Instructor Location: 15340 Michigan Ave, Dearborn MI 48126 Department: Clinical Education Reports To: Director of Clinical Education Position Type: Part-Time (6–8 hours/week, with potential for additional hours based on performance) Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $21.00
Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Hands-On Clinical Education Instructor to teach Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, and Electrocardiogram (EKG) subjects. This instructor will work with classes of 10–20 students, providing both lecture-based instruction and hands-on skills training. The ideal candidate will be confident in clinical procedures, effective at explaining concepts, and eager to develop engaging learning materials for both in-person and online use.
This role begins at approximately 6–8 hours per week with the potential to increase hours based on performance and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom & Lab Instruction:
Teach Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, and EKG courses to groups of 10–20 students.
Deliver engaging lectures and interactive clinical lab sessions.
Demonstrate and supervise hands-on clinical skills in a safe and professional environment.
Curriculum Development:
Create, update, and maintain curriculum materials, including units, quizzes, PowerPoint presentations, and instructional videos.
Ensure all content meets industry standards and certification requirements.
Student Support & Tutoring:
Provide guidance and support to students during class and clinical lab days.
Offer tutoring and additional help to students who need extra support.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Develop and administer quizzes, skills check-offs, and practical exams.
Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback for improvement.
Collaboration & Program Improvement:
Work closely with other instructors and staff to maintain high program quality.
Suggest enhancements to teaching methods and course materials.
Qualifications:
Education:
Certification, diploma, or degree in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, EKG Technology, Nursing, or a related healthcare field.
Instructor certification or teaching experience is a plus but not required.
Experience:
Clinical experience in a medical or allied health setting preferred — all levels of experience will be considered.
Teaching, training, or mentoring experience (formal or informal) is a plus.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong knowledge of Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, and EKG clinical procedures.
Ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in creating and delivering educational materials.
