Role Overview

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you¿ll evaluate acute and chronic responses to exercise in individuals with varying health statuses, from apparently healthy to those with complex chronic diseases. You¿ll implement behavior change techniques to promote healthy lifestyles, administer exercise stress tests, and supervise clinic-based exercise training programs. Your work will directly support patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, and other chronic conditions, helping them achieve better health outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate acute and chronic responses to exercise in diverse patient populations.
• Administer exercise stress tests and supervise clinic-based exercise training programs.
• Provide physical activity counseling and behavior change techniques to promote adherence to healthy lifestyles.
• Obtain medical histories, review medications, assess symptoms, and interpret ECGs during rest and exercise.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in exercise science/physiology or related field.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the healthcare provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical exercise setting.
• American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification.
