    Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

    Shift Schedule: 18:00 - 06:30 (Nights)/ WEEKENDS ONLY

    Location: Redding , CA 96001

    Job Type: Per Diem

    Start date: 05/18/2026 - 05/17/2027

    Pay: $60 to $63 depending on experience.

    Performs computer data entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties

    possesses adequate knowledge of the terminology of tests ordered in the laboratory

    demonstrates good communication skills and telephone etiquette in greeting patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner

    demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique and the use of equipment in collecting specimens from newborns to geriatric patients,

    processes microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and blood bank specimens

    processes specimens for referral to reference laboratories

    stocks routine supplies,

    maintains the cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers and work areas

    processes or load specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation in accordance with established policy and procedures

    May be assist to Pick up samples at hospital/ OR, assist lab specialty in sorting out samples for analysis and put away samples, assist pathology, inventory, replenish supplies, order supplies, mail pick up/ delivery, faxing, answering phone product deliveries

    other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager/director

    Requirement:

    Minimum 1 year of recent Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience required

    Must have active CLS/MLS certification/license (ASCP or equivalent) and BLS preferred

    Experience performing hematology, chemistry, coagulation, microbiology, blood bank, and urinalysis testing required

    Ability to operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment

    Knowledge of laboratory quality control, CAP/CLIA compliance, and infection control standards required

    Experience with Cerner, Epic Beaker, or other Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred

    Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and accurate specimen processing/documentation skills required
