Clinical Laboratory Supervisor
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Salary: $72,500 – $92,500 + $4,000 Shift Differential + Bonus Potential
About the Role:
A clinical laboratory organization is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily wet lab operations and support laboratory staff in a regulated clinical testing environment. This role is responsible for supervising workflow, managing laboratory personnel, ensuring adherence to SOPs, and supporting quality management initiatives.
This position reports to the Clinical Laboratory Manager and plays a key role in maintaining efficient laboratory operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily wet lab activities and laboratory workflow
Manage and support laboratory personnel and productivity
Assign and monitor work while providing coaching and feedback
Ensure adherence to laboratory SOPs, quality standards, and testing integrity
Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of staff
Monitor laboratory supply inventory and coordinate ordering
Run data algorithms and QC matrices as delegated
Communicate regularly with department leadership regarding sample volume and resources
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
3+ years of clinical laboratory experience
1+ year of experience in a CAP-regulated laboratory
Prior supervisory experience managing laboratory staff
Experience overseeing laboratory workflow and quality processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Laboratory Supervisor or similar management role
Experience supporting regulatory inspections or laboratory quality management
Advanced education and additional laboratory experience may be considered
