Providence Holy Cross Surgery Center at Mission has an opening for a Part-Time Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Providence Holy Cross Surgery Center at Mission Hills is a fast-paced, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

This position is Part-Time. 20 - 29 hours/ week is expected.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator provides pre and post procedure support to the center and to patients. Some key duties include -

• Review and verify patient charts to ensure all required documentation, consents, and pre-operative tests are complete.
• Identify and resolve missing information or discrepancies in coordination with the care team and physician offices.
• Conduct Pre-op phone calls to review patient health history, medication use, allergies, and surgical instructions
• Provide education regarding pre-surgical preparation, fasting requirements, arrival times and post-surgery expectations.
• Coordinate with physicians to obtain medical clearance when indicated
• Ensure pre-operative orders (labs, EKGs, imaging, Etc.) are completed and documented.
• Perform post-op follow-up calls to assess patient, wound care, mobility, and overall recovery progress
• Provide patient education and guidance regarding medications, follow-up appointments, and warning signs requiring medical attention
• Document post-op assessments and communicate any complications or concerns to the surgical or clinical team and infection control nurse
• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless surgical workflow
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold compliance with HIPAA and facility standards

Hourly Wage Range: $45.00 - $70.00, depending on experience

Required Skills

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current CA Nursing License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong computer and office skills
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills
