We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of health services in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, the Minnesota Assisted Living Licensure regulations (Minn. Stat. § 144G), Minnesota Statute 245D, and organizational policies. This role ensures that residents receive quality care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services, while supervising nursing and unlicensed personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Resident Care
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of residents to determine individualized service plans.
Develop, implement, and revise service plans based on resident needs and changes in condition.
Ensure care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and applicable state laws.
Monitor residents for changes in conditions and ensure a timely and appropriate response.
Facilitate communication with physicians, families, and outside care providers.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and quality assurance measures.
Supervision & Leadership
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and unlicensed personnel.
Ensure compliance with medication administration requirements and documentation.
Respond to on-call responsibilities and clinical emergencies as needed.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Minnesota Assisted Living Licensure requirements (Minn. Stat. § 144G), DHS, MDH, and Board of Nursing regulations.
Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections.
Maintain proper documentation in accordance with state and organizational policies.
Report incidents, accidents, and adverse outcomes per MN reporting requirements and company procedures.
Team Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with facility leadership to coordinate interdisciplinary care.
Serve as a liaison between nursing services and residents, families, and staff.
Promote a positive, resident-centered care environment.
Participate in care conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions.
Candidate Requirements
Required:
Current and unencumbered RN license in the state of Minnesota.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or community health.
Experience supervising nursing or direct care staff.
Knowledge of Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and Assisted Living Licensure regulations (Minn. Stat. § 144G).
Valid driver’s license
First aid/CPR certification required
Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and care documentation systems.
Work Environment
Must be able to work flexible hours including occasional weekends or holidays.
May be required to be on-call based on facility needs.
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
