    Job Description: The PAC Manager will serve as a contract Post-Acute Care subject matter expert within Optum’s Inpatient Case Management and Clinical Variation solution, supporting strategic client partnerships through the design, implementation, and optimization of Post-Acute Care programs.

    This role is focused on providing hands-on advisory leadership, bringing deep operational expertise to help clients improve care delivery and post-acute performance.

    The successful consultant will thrive in fast-paced client environments, collaborate effectively with cross-functional Optum and client teams, and engage confidently with senior leaders, providers, and operational stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes.

    In this role, the PAC Manager will provide program and engagement management support, guiding Optum and client teams through targeted initiatives to improve care efficiency, post-acute utilization, and health system financial sustainability.

    As a client-facing consultant, this individual will ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across Optum business units, align solutions to client priorities, and support the successful execution of defined project objectives over the course of the engagement

    Required skills: • 5+ years of experience in healthcare consulting and/or management consulting and/or hospital operations and/or project management • Proficient with MS Excel and PowerPoint for creating presentations • Demonstrated planning, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills • Proven self-guided, motivated, and able to simultaneously manage multiple activities with little direction • Proven solid strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to align clinical strategies and recommendations with business objectives • Proven solid presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including communicating with senior leadership • Proven track record of working collaboratively with internal business partners and stakeholders across a large matrixed organization • Proven ability to develop relationships with clinicians and business leadership • Proven adaptable and flexible style; able to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous situations • Ability to travel regionally up to 50-80%

    Desired skillset: • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator certification preferred • Self-guided, motivated and able to simultaneously manage multiple activities with little direction in a fast-paced environment • Experience building project/program deliverables with ability to manage 3+ workstreams across complex internal and external stakeholders • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor team members • Proven track record of working collaboratively with internal business partners and stakeholders across a large matrixed organization • Ability to develop, build and maintain relationships with clinicians and business leadership • Experience with project turnaround/remediation and change management methodology • Experience in clinical transformation implementation resulting in significant recurring financial benefit
